Brew
Brew is a game about gathering ingredients and using them to brew potions. It utilises a neat dice placement mechanic mixed with quick resolving area control to create a highly interactive and mean game! Brew immediately grabs the attention with its vibrant art - the game looks great. It's a theme that continues from the box to the cards and components with the custom dice being awesome! Players start by choosing a colour and then take the four dice of the matching colours. Your player board can be played as basic or with a unique power. Each player also takes two elemental dice. At the start of your turn you will roll all six dice, and unless you have powers or creatures that allow you rerolls.
You'll be placing your dice onto season cards or the main board and taking actions accordingly. The season cards are won by the player with the most dice on them at the end of the round. You can also boost their points by adding creatures to them of a matching season. To do this you will need to recruit creatures first. Deciding which to keep around for their powers and which to release onto a scoring card is just one of the key decisions you will be making. Your dice are fairly flexible too, being able to screw up other players plans as much as further your own. As already mentioned, this is a highly interactive game, and most of the time that is done in a 'mean' fashion, that means it won't be for everyone. But those who like this game are going to love it.
